"Writing an email is like writing an article. Only quote the relevant parts, interspersing your new remarks between the quoted passages." — agreed, in this case, less is more.

Feeding

After some hackery and general pondering over just what sort of feed options are best, the feed options have, err.. grown.

Being as people like choice.. and choice is indeed a good thing, here’s the low-down on the new XML order, in (ironically) no particular order:

  1. I want it all - this is the full give-me-everything deal.. articles and remainders side-bye-side.
  2. remainders and links - keep up with all the remainders.. freshly squeezed links, baby.
  3. justify my entry - full posts only.. hold the fries and skip the links.
  4. commentary - conversational style.. keep tabs on what everyone is saying.
  5. email gail - don’t do RSS? .. keep tabs on all the action via email.

So, if you just want one feed, to rule them all - pick option 1. Want to get all the content, without the linkage? - go for option 3. Whatever your particular taste in feed, it’s been covered.. no mess, no fuss - collect the set, or go non-fat.

That’s what the way-of-the-foo is all about - giving you the choice of how little, or much crap, you want in your day. The Surgeon General will be pleased.

thank you come again

.. the plot thickens, it would appear we have a live one — and to think it could have just as easily been a spam bot.

from nigera with love

After receiving yet another nigerian scam email and being in a particularly less tolerant mood than normal - I decided a response to a reasonably well put together email was in order.

Now, I fully expect the email to bounce, but given the recent turn of events, it was somewhat cathartic to reply to a nameless individual who has likely sent the same email to several thousand people.

To err is Human.

I’ve noticed over the last month or so the level of site feedback had diminished to zero. Being the ever curious geek, I decided it was time to identify whether I’ve become “teh suck”, or some other gremlin had chosen to press spanner to works.

(gs) webmail exposing a technical glitch

A quick skim of the feedback form looked ok — the email was sane.. Next step was to log into the (mt) provided webmail ((.. the new (gs) ajax powered webmail rocks, as it happens.)) and.. you’ve got mail!.
