After some hackery and general pondering over just what sort of feed options are best, the feed options have, err.. grown.
Being as people like choice.. and choice is indeed a good thing, here’s the low-down on the new XML order, in (ironically) no particular order:
- I want it all - this is the full give-me-everything deal.. articles and remainders side-bye-side.
- remainders and links - keep up with all the remainders.. freshly squeezed links, baby.
- justify my entry - full posts only.. hold the fries and skip the links.
- commentary - conversational style.. keep tabs on what everyone is saying.
- email gail - don’t do RSS? .. keep tabs on all the action via email.
So, if you just want one feed, to rule them all - pick option 1. Want to get all the content, without the linkage? - go for option 3. Whatever your particular taste in feed, it’s been covered.. no mess, no fuss - collect the set, or go non-fat.
That’s what the way-of-the-foo is all about - giving you the choice of how little, or much crap, you want in your day. The Surgeon General will be pleased.
