"Clearly some people consider ideas as more precious than others, and others do not distinguish between ideas and implementations of ideas." — John attempts to educate us on what may, or may not, consitute a rip-off.. a highly subjective topic at best. #
A recent referrer caught my eye, due to an incoming yahoo search — the desperate Windows user’s query? ".. i do not understand how to delete these unwanted partitions in 98, nothing is working, please help me". #
"Twitteroo 1.5 is now available for download! But wait, that’s not all — the TwitterooCore API 1.4 is also available." — Twitteroo is still missing proxy support, but the upgrade is none-the-less a welcome improvement. #
I’ve been putting some thought into how I can help fund the purchase of a mac. I could write review-me PPP style posts, but I think we all know where I stand on that particular idea.
We’ve all seen the pleas of “help me buy n“, where n is some super expensive toy and the would-be coveter is after donation-after-donation to obtain the goal. Free product by virtue of those with spare coin to throw around.
And it occurs to me, that instead of a thinly veiled attempt to score money from the kind-hearted souls in the wider blogging communities - I’d make your $, £ or ¥ investment actually be worth a damn. You see, I have a little bit of prime real-estate here, that I could ‘auction’ off in return for donations.
"PayPerPost venture capitalist and board member Dan Rua defends the ethics of paid ‘editorials’." — this strikes me as an oxymoron, ironically the later syllable describes anyone believing PPP has any ethics, period. #
"As the one-year mark approaches, many of you have been asking how it’s working out. My answer has been ‘Pretty good so far, but we’ll see.’ Starting today, we get to see." — John’s memerbship drive 2007 kicks off with a damn fine bang. #
The site design has been swapped out, as per an email received from John Gruber today.
"Having none of that, Ms. Foster’s lawyer has now made a motion to compel their compliance with the Court’s March 15th order." — Another case of the RIAAs bully tactics backfiring, indeed they may find the court finds for the defendant "with prejudice". #
"If successful, the lawsuit may exert some "chilling effects" of its own on DMCA takedown notices." — The DMCA isn’t an excuse to issue ‘take downs’ for *everything* a coporate may not like, as Viacom is about to discover. #
"The insane scribblings, scraps and off-cuts from a caffeine consuming code monkey and geek." — an experimental amalgum of snapshots and random parts of my online existance, a digital lifestream, if you will, where the matrix and meta collide. #
