.. the plot thickens, it would appear we have a live one — and to think it could have just as easily been a spam bot.
Dear Brendan,
Thanks for your corrections and i am so happy for that as i have taken it down,
once again that you very much. Yes i can give you the vital information for you
to conatct the bank for the transferr of the fund, but I will like to have you

and the account number.
3, Due to scam going on all over the world now, I need an assurance from you
that once i give you all you need for the money to be transferred that you will
work my travel to your place.

Ok, so we have one persistent chap who is certain they have hooked a potential victim. And we’re on first name terms now - my, aren’t we getting cosy..
Lets up the anti, shall we?
Titi,
Excellent - I am pleased the feedback was well received, however you still
appear to be having difficulty with the English language, so do please allow
me to assist your education in such matters:
- “would like your” is perhaps more applicable, than “will like to have you”
- transfer has 2 r’s, not 3
- funds, rather than fund (as in referring to a sum of money, rather than
a container for said monies)
- country, rather than conutry and contact, rather than conatct
- “organise my travel”, rather than “work..”
If you still wish to arrange travel, simply forward your details to this
address (again, so I can check to see if the funds are still available and are
readily accessible) - I can assure you that I am the only authorised person
to have access to this account and can safely protect the monies on your
behalf.
Like you, I am concerned that someone could scam your money and hope
that my sincere interest in helping, is proof enough of my intentions.
I look forward to helping retrieve the money your Father left to you.
Obviously it is of the utmost importance these funds are secured, thus
calling you, given the differences in time zones, will only delay the help I
can give you and could put the money in jeopardy.
Your humble servant,
Brendan.
.. this chap is either so desperate to hook a victim he or she has entirely missed that I am, ever so bluntly, taking the piss — or, they are simply oblivious to the fact that I am, in my own way, scamming this individual right back.
Indeed it’s entirely possible the effort in correcting their understanding of English may actually cause a genuine belief that I might actually be a bona fide sucker.
Of course, if they happen upon this blog - much hilarity will ensue, primarily because the scammer has been busted in front of around one hundred or so people. Should they ignore the link to the ‘foo, left in both responses, then I guess they’re a little slow on the uptake.
So.. does anyone want to place a bet on just how long this scammer will continue to attempt to gain a free airline ticket1 despite the obviously ‘fake’ story? :)
- not to mention access to my bank account details, so they can procure that ticket.. obviously (↩)
