After a few months of broadleaf released unharmed and unhindered in the wild, it’s amazing to see what folks have done with it. At last count the theme has had in excess of 3800 downloads between this site and the broadleaf themes.wordpress.net entry.
With the knowledge that broadleaf has had some time out in the community, it’s a good time to take a step back and look at some great examples..
Theme showcase #1 - Adam
Here’s a case in point:
adam | all your blog are belong to us.
Adam has given broadleaf a blue and white makeover, which results in quite a dramatic change to the design - which was my goal from the outset.. provide something that works right out of the box, but allow for a great deal of customisation.
Theme showcase #2 - Christopher
There’s always something a little exciting about seeing a re-design unfold.. being able to see work, “as it happens”, so to speak. For example,
Christopher’s Street.
The theme has softened colours which improve the general ‘feel’ and it just somehow seems easier to read.
Theme showcase #3 - *girlspoke
When I first noticed
*girlspoke1 it took a moment for me to realise that yes, it was indeed broadleaf, however the changes made have been amazing and takes the theme into a whole new direction. The soft blue’s and bright red would seem an odd combination at first, yet it does “just work”.
Roundup
The feedback received from users of broadleaf, the suggestions, occasional brickbats and great advice has been astonishing — I had no expectations on release and assumed it would all be forgotten quite quickly.. yet the diversity I’ve seen over the last few weeks has made the release and experience as a whole most worth-while.

Those are some great takes on the theme. Kudos.
I downloaded broadleaf with the intention of using the CSS for your Live Archives in my personal blog; I activated the theme and loved it, so I just kept on using it. Played with the colours and bottom content a bit and found I was pretty damn happy. I’m hoping to eventually replace the header graphic to something more fitting but, well, I’m lazy. Thanks for putting out such a great theme.
