Option three is in use here, with the post title linking to the post, the comment count linking to the comments and finally the author’s name links directly to the comment - this helps orientate visitors and regular readers alike to the desired navigational elements within a post.
Nothing pisses me off more than author activity links that send me either off-site, to the start of the comments (rather than the actual comment) or anywhere else. Navigation should be painless and work - send me on a wild goose chase and I’m not likely to return in a hurry.
