Syma DragonFly RC Heli

Being as I am the supreme geek and chancing apon a hawkers stall on Sunday, whilst visiting a local “market”, The Brickworks, I came across a truly “geek” toy.

Syma DragonFly RC Heli

Yes, a Radio Control Heli. The Syma DragonFly to be precise. This thing is an amazingly small (a little over half a meter, blade tip to tail rotor) 2 channel plastic fantastic. I’ve flown it 3 times so far and am getting seriously hooked. It’s a great way to enter into a more serious RC heli hobby by starting small (not to mention, cheap).

The DragonFly cost a mere $80 (~$45 US) and I have now found a source ( via eBay.. is there anything eBay cannot provide?) in case I trash the ‘Fly (quite likely) and require another one. Granted I saved around $15 buying it from a local hawker, but they only had a few left. :)

Spares are available too, which is something of a rarity when dealing with many “cheap” plastic models I’ve discovered.

All in all it’s safe to say this here geek will be praying to cthulu for the power of wallet restoration (not to mention partner placation) and moving to something a little more interesting down the track.
