Typo-squatters unleashed

If you think accidentally spelling a domain name is annoying, it’s nothing compared to a recent discovery made in part thanks to Microsoft’s HoneyMonkey exploit detection system.

Researchers at Microsoft have uncovered a ring of domain squatters that deliberately set up misspelled URLs that redirect users to their own sites. The sites then serve up ads using Google AdSense that raise money for the squatters.
