Respect da Code, yo.

I’ve been getting that ‘need to cut code’ feeling again.. While the squibble theme is certainly nice to use - it’s not quite what I’m after. Thus, the next theme is on the boil. I have a bunch of idea’s and a layout in mind that should be both aesthetically pleasing, yet lightweight and enjoyable to navigate.

The trend lately has been to ramp up the Ajax, pour on the java and bloat out the PHP and imagery to a point that to me, detracts from the purpose of blogging. Don’t get me wrong, there are some fantastic designs on show, however there is always the risk of reaching level of the rice phenomena — cruft for the sake of cruft.

So, with a bunch of ideas on the boil and a pressing need to get something a little more user friendly, light and minimal without reaching the hallowed ground of white backgrounds and Times New Roman, it’s one more unto the CSS breach.

Pending your redesign, I have to say I love Joen’s Fauna theme in the meantime; probably my favourite packaged theme yet.

Actually - I’m warming to this theme massively. I suspect that I will use this as a base to springboard into the redesign. It’s quite minimalistic which rocks; chances are the eventual result will be genetically engineered fauna. :)

The only problem testing ajax comments - is the need to actually comment. :)
