New layout is pretty much finished - seems I’ve timed my ‘autumn spruce up’ with matthew’s recent painting expedition.
That is one of the more odd blogisims I feel - it seems everyone tends to perform a code or ‘look’ update within days of each other, often not aware of the seemingly ‘hive mind’ appearance of half a dozen blogs changing the shop window at the same time.
That’s actually kinda cool when one stops to think about it.
My driving goal this time round, was to heighten the presence of the ‘news and shorts’ entries. Being buried below the (now) three primary posts they don’t really stand out - migrating them to the side navigational element (I agonised over that decision just by the way) does tend to highlight the asides content more. The trade off now of course, is that I have two columns of articles and thoughts, where I’d prefer to have just the one.
I’ve begun to notice rather that rather than a massive overhaul, my blog is in a period of evolution, as I seek to find the layout that both satiates the need for logical progression, form, function and of course aesthetics. I’m not there yet, some would say it’s actually an impossible goal - it’s not unlike planing for tomorrow, as tomorrow never truly arrives, preferring to remain frustratingly out of grasp.
So I continue to evolve the ‘forces layout.. thoughts anyone?

your sites been evolving nicely over the last few weeks.
Do you have a mac or is that grab from one of those sites that lets you take grabs of websites?

Screen grab via lilpixel.
It’s handy for debug purposes as well, as I do not have a mac handy to test with. :)
