Erk, feedburner death

Looks like I spoke too soon - the feedburner plugin i’m using doesn’t want to play nice with 1.6a any more. Bugger. Update: had to manually set the .htaccess rewrite rules as 1.6a does tricksy stuffs.

Wordpress 1.6a

Interesting..
Just updated the ‘forces blog via SVN and it appears we’re getting close to a new version.
I’m probably going to get clubbed for making noises about 1.6 (can’t say I care greatly, to be honest), however I’m not about to suggest everyone rocks over to wordpress and checks out the latest SVN (or nightlies, for […]

Life is too short..

It’s happened.
Kath’s father passed away this evening - peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.
As I
have mentioned before, his fight with cancer was at first strong, the chemo was working and all was just going to be okay.. As time progressed however it had become apparent that the cancer would eventually claim his life, […]

Ad sense

I’ve decided to trial google’s adsense.. with adsense code appearing once on the front page nav, and again once below each post entry. Hopefully it will be non-invasive yet obvious (by using the website colour scheme) - if such a thing makes advertising sense?! :)

Feedsmoulder

Ugh, someone needs to tell the guys at
feedburner they need more server horsepower. Their performance (both statistics and RSS feed response time) has really taken a major nose dive since I last used their services - variable performance and irregular page time-outs are bad, mkay?! Sadly another case of “great concept let down by […]

Feeds of fire

I’m trialling using
feedburner and the WP
feedburner plugin to get a handle on subscriber readership levels amongst a few other reasons. I’m using .htaccess re-write rules, so it should be 100% transparent. :)

Freya returneth

On the theme of site updates, Michael’s
bonsai has seen some activity. Behold,
freya returneth.

Tears.. in rain.

I watched my partner Kath leave the International Airport this evening.. she has returned to New Zealand to be with family and friends - a vigil over her father who has terminal cancer.. and I am filled with a sadness that seems to have depth infinite.
During the surreal return trip home I recalled the pivotal […]

Tweak nation 3000

New layout is pretty much finished - seems I’ve timed my ‘autumn spruce up’ with matthew’s recent
painting expedition.
That is one of the more odd blogisims I feel - it seems everyone tends to perform a code or ‘look’ update within days of each other, often not aware of the seemingly ‘hive mind’ appearance of […]

Theme two-step shuffle

I’ve adjusted the theme layout somewhat. Additional tweaking is likely over the next day or two - more to come. :)

New Technorati Public Beta

Sifry’s Alerts: New Technorati Public Beta - The new
Technorati beta rocks. I’ve updated my tag code to point to the new beta. :)
