I’ve decided to trial google’s adsense.. with adsense code appearing once on the front page nav, and again once below each post entry. Hopefully it will be non-invasive yet obvious (by using the website colour scheme) - if such a thing makes advertising sense?! :)

Good Luck. Ads are a tough bit to do. Agonizing over using them. Then agonizing over how to use them. Then feeling like you’ve betrayed some internet ethic by using them. Then coming to the realization that most of the people that read your blog use ad-blockers and never even know they are there. Then, wondering why no one ever clicks your ads.
It’s a bitch. Some consolation, I don’t use an ad-blocker, I do use google ads on my site (bottom of each article), and I managed to pull in 100$US already and got a check. It can just take forever. But, people like you so I’m sure you’ll be ok.
BTW, I clicked your ad. :)

Heh, thanks. :)
Yes, it’s something I’ve agonised over as well - but then I look at it this way. If folk block the ad’s, that’s fine, if they don’t, well that’s ok too. Really I’m just trialling it as a way of off-setting web hosting costs, etc.
I’ve tried to keep them relatively unobtrusive, yet noticeable and I’ve tried to incorporate them into the layout by using the layout colours as much as possible. Obviously I’ll be happy if I get a few clicks occasionally.
Either way everyone wins. :D
