Technorati auto-taggin’

Michael’s prompted this post, through posing a pretty
nifty tagging concept.
.. and it is a cool concept. One of the things I decided when I rebuilt this weblog from scratch (deleting the original in the process) was that I wanted to keep categories to a minimum, certainly no more than 10-15 core cat’s and reasonably […]

Ok, that’s weird

Ok, so
feedburner is reporting that at least one itunes 4.9 client (with podcast support) has subscribed to the ‘ramblings feed - only I cannot actually find my podcast in the ITMS list. What the?! :)

You know Apple’s ITMS sucks..

.. when you appear to have to be in an ITMS (iTunes Music Store) supported location to actually add your own podcast.
Ok, well that seems reasonable, they’ve got to have some form of account setup, right?
Sure, makes sense to me too, indeed I have a valid Apple account - oh yes, that’s great, right? All […]

Ad senses

Spurred on by
Phu’s thoughts, I’ve adjusted the ‘forces google adsense implementation. One block is now above the first post, which keeps it away from actual content, yet still in a prime location, the other is in between post & comment - you will only ever see (at most) a single ad block per page. […]

All good things must end..

I’ve returned back from New Zealand, after attending the funeral of Kath’s father.
While I’m at best a little tired and saddened, it’s still yet to sink in for Kath. She is.. was, very close to her father and she was very much his “little girl”. Rodger has been like a second father to me - […]

Trekking..

If you wonder why this blog turns a little silent for the next week or so, I fly out this evening for New Zealand, to attend the funeral of my partners father and spend some time with her family. I’ve received a few emails expressing condolences and would like to pass on my thanks and […]

Bleeding edge

As I have mentioned in a
previous post I’ve recently rolled to Wordpress 1.6 alpha.
A number of long-term Wordpress users, have decided to take the plunge and start using nightlies as well as the Subversion repository, both of which are development builds.
Michael’s recent RSS
feeds glitch is a timely reminder that developer builds are bleeding […]

Tabs - the next generation

The css example file has undergone an update - this should fix the unusual ’sliding’ effect of the tabs left or right depending on the browser size or resolution.
As you can see, I have implemented navigational tabs.
They render nicely in Firefox, IE6 and theoretically in IE5#.. without any hacks. So, how did I achieve this?
It […]

Seek and you shall find.

I’ve implemented google search in the
archives - it’s fairly accurate at finding results on the ‘forces already. Feel free to
check it out.
