Archive for April, 2005
I’ve resized the background images & stretched the background layout to 800 px, which makes better use of available real-estate without causing resolution issues for those who continue to use 800 x 600 dpi as a screen res..
This post has been updated to reflect slightly more correct code..
As I have recently
mentioned, the ‘forces has just been at the sharp end of a code overhaul.
While appearances may be deceiving and the layout may look virtually the same it’s the changes under the hood that are interesting. This is why WordPress is not […]
As mentioned, I’m now running a single the_post loop and it rocks. Asides are working flawlessly and it’s even xhtml transitional compliant. :)
I’ve implemented a new post loop structure, based on the
comments by
Chris. Hello single the_post loop.
Welcome weary traveller, for you have found the site chronology, commonly referred to as the archives.
chro·nol·o·gy
The science that deals with the determination of dates and the sequence of events.
The arrangement of events in time.
A chronological list or table.
“.. the science of locating events in time. An arrangement of events, from either earliest to latest […]
So, while I was wallowing in how craptastic my day was yesterday, I happened to
stumble on the most hilarious ’spoof’ blog I have had the pleasure to read in quite some time -
darthside.blogspot.com.
The Darth Side: Memoirs of a Monster
Journal of Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith and Servant to His Supreme Excellency the […]
During my daily trawl through slashdot, I came across a

matt has
just noticed
my post about how WordPress is billed as a ‘blog’ or ’state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform’ (if you like extensive terminology) yet has “the knock-down power of the yin-yang” (as Burt Gummer would say).
Now, I do not know if he was gently ‘extracting the michael’ or not but it’s interesting […]
Today, 25 of April, is recognised as ANZAC day.
It is a day of remembrance for the brave men from Australia and New Zealand who fought and lost their lives on
the beaches of Gallipoli on April 25, 1915.
The attack on Gallipoli was one of the more imaginative strategies of the First World War.
The German […]
I have switched from the native java scriptlet as provided by Flickr’s “badge” and implemented Dave Kellam’s flickrRSS plugin.
I’ve decided to finally get to grips with
flickr and start making use of
my account.
The problem that I have with it, is that the “badge” Java script to create the photo stream, triggers around 20+ xhtml compliance errors. Over 20!
I’m no compliance Nazi, lets just put the cards on the table right now, but […]
